SAMWU Johannesburg notes labour court judgment in the COJ130 matter
The South African Municipal Workers’ Union (SAMWU) notes Johannesburg Labour Court judgement in the matter between 130+ City of Johannesburg employees and the Municipality.
Delivering his judgement on Tuesday, Labour Court’s Judge Andre Van Niekerk ruled that SAMWU’s matter of final interdict and declaratory order in the COJ130 v/s City of Joburg Metropolitan Municipality matter has struck off the roll.
“As the leadership of SAMWU in the Johannesburg region, we have briefed our legal team to urgently read this judgment and advised on possible avenues available for the workers. SAMWU being the only vanguard of workers in the City of Johannesburg undertakes to explore any legal recourse in pursuit of justice,” said Thobani Nkosi, Regional Secretary of SAMWU Johannesburg
